Bitterroot Crossing eBook Tess Oliver Reviews
I loved Jessie and Nick in this book. This was a great ghost story that I couldn't seem to put down. I also fell in love with Zedekiah, the main ghost, because after a full century he was still in love with the same woman. I would recommend this book to anyone.
I bought the edition of this because it was cheap & I wanted something to read. It wasn't the worst 99 cents I ever spent, but it wasn't the best. For me the book had too many holes in the plot for me to actually like the book, I mean if there were ghosts why didn't people move? There's a bunch of other questions/concerns I have that if you read the book you'll understand. But for me I'd waste my money on another cheap book unless you like lame teen romances where the people fall in love for no other reason than they can..
I can't believe the depth of the characters, the richness of descriptions and the way the author can grab hold of you and bend your emotions to her will. I laughed, I cried and I felt like a character within in the book.
This is a very special writer, very rare and wonderful, indeed.
I fell in love with the characters as soon as the story started. The innocence that Jessie possesses is refreshing. She is not the typical flawless protagonist waiting to be rescued by prince charming she is witty and endearing. I love what the author did showing both sides of the story from each point of view it makes the love story aspect easy to relate too. I wish she would have given more depth to Nick's father but overall it is a must read.
I'm not one who enjoys stories about ghosts, however, this book was an unexpected surprise. It took me on twists and turns that were so out of the ordinary and so far from the norm of paranormal literature that I could not help but fall in love with the town, the characters and even the ghosts. I enjoyed how the author gave both perspectives of the main characters and gave insight into both of their lives. The only problem that I had with the book was that there could have been more about the ghosts and their pasts, but it did not detract of the story. I cannot wait to see what else Tess Oliver comes out with!
A good tween/teen romance novel, some mildly violent scenes. Bitterroot Crossing is a small town that has a warning system for when the gang of ghosts leaves the swamp to wreak havoc on the inhabitants, how cool is that. Interesting love triangle. Besides the lead characters, some thought was also put into creating a supporting cast of people and animals to fill out Jessie and Nick's world.
Definitely not the best of Tess Oliver's works. I am a big fan of her Camille series and this book was definitely a few steps down, but still a fun read. If you're bored and looking to kill some time or procrastinate this book is a fun, quick read but the writing is not very good and it is definitely very, very cheesy.
A wonderful story of love transcending over time. Great read with action, suspense and of course true love.
